Our First Speaker of the Year -
Dr. Margaret-Ann Armour
We are pleased to have
had presented to us one of our distinguished colleagues,
Margaret-Ann Armour, who has been actively engaged in
various aspects of science education and research. An
invaluable member of the University of Alberta
Department of Chemistry, she is internationally
recognized for her commitment to advancing the role of
women in science and engineering, and is the recipient
of numerous national and international awards.
She was granted a
special degree as our St. Jerome Science Mom.

Our November Speakers
DiscoverE
Discover E is a not-for-profit,
student-run program at the University of Alberta with
the goal of fostering an interest in science,
engineering, and technology in youth. They conduct
in-class workshops, and offer science, technology and
engineering day camps.
Discover E has recently been awarded
the 2008 Actua Award for Leadership and Innovation. They
also received the 1999 Nortel Award for Leadership and
Innovation by Actua and the 1997 Alberta Science and
Technology Leadership Award (ASTech).

Report Cards and Parent/Student/Teacher
Conferences |
Report
cards will be distributed on Friday, November 20th to all
students grades one through six.
Our Parent-Teacher-Child
conferences will be held on:
Thursday, November 26th
at
1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
and
5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
To schedule a 15 minute conference
time with your child’s teacher please call the school office at
780-479-5847. We will be accepting conference bookings as of Friday,
November 20th.
